Former striker of the Ukrainian national team Ivan Getsko in an interview "TEAM1 ” commented on the latest coaching appointments at the UPL clubs, and also said what he thinks about the prospects for the next Ukrainian championship.
- Of course, the main news is the appearance of Croatian specialist Igor Jovicevich at the helm of Shakhtar, Ivan Getsko said. — At first glance, the Pitmen are taking a big risk by entrusting the reins of power to a coach who has no high-profile victories to his credit. However, the management of Shakhtar remained true to itself, inviting a foreigner, but, what is important, with experience in Ukraine. In the current situation, this will have to be taken seriously, since Shakhtar is forced to rely on players with a Ukrainian passport.
- If we take into account that in recent years at Shakhtar, figuratively speaking, the Latin Americans have made the weather, then it is easy to assume that in the new season we will see, to some extent, an unusual team...
- I agree, moreover, Igor Jovicevich will make efforts to change the playing style not only in the main team, but also in the club academy. It remains only to be patient.
- And how would you comment on the changes on the coaching bridge in Dnipro-1, Vorskla, Kryvbas and Chornomorets?
- I am convinced that such perturbations will become the highlight of the championship and make the rivalry more intense. But since football life in Ukraine has stopped for a long time due to the Russian invasion, after the resumption of training, the participating teams will have different opportunities for completing the training process, so there will be no passing matches when the advantage in the score of one of the rivals will be impressive. You need to be ready for this.
— AT unlike its competitors, Dynamo managed to keep the leading performers, reservists also pulled up, who are knocking louder and louder on the door of the main team...
- And this should become a significant trump card in the competition for the championship title. Moreover, the coaching staff will have plenty of time to balance the condition of the players who were preparing in the club and those who were involved in the June matches of the national team of Ukraine.
- Will the UPL level drop significantly, given the situation in Ukraine?
- Without any doubt. You also need to take into account not only the departure of many high-quality foreign players, but also the fact that most teams will be forced to leave their places of residence. And it is still difficult to say how efficiently the logistics issues will be resolved.
Of course, I really want the football life in Ukraine to resume, but the organizers of the championship need to take into account every little thing so that the participants of the competition are guaranteed safety.
By the way, at one time I had to play for Maccabi from Haifa, when the Arab-Israeli conflict was in full swing. But since Maccabi played their calendar matches at lunchtime, in terrible heat, and, as a rule, they bombed at night or in the morning, then, fortunately, there was no force majeure. However, in the event of an air raid alert, we had somewhere to hide. Everything was taken into account and in the house where I lived, I even had my own bomb shelter with a supply of everything needed for many months...
I would like to believe that if in Ukraine they decided to revive the football competitions of the teams of masters, then they have carefully weighed everything and will be ready for any surprises, since we are talking about the most valuable thing - human life.
