As you know, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already using with might and main in the fight against the Russian army French self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS) "CAESAR" of 155 mm caliber. The Ukrainian commander of one of these self-propelled guns shared his impressions of the operation of this modern combat vehicle.
“This is not just a new generation weapon, it is a completely different class. This self-propelled gun aims at the target itself, sends the projectile by itself, and orients itself in directions. And our functions are reduced to a minimum: load ammunition and open fire.
The main advantage of the CAESAR self-propelled guns is high maneuverability. We gain a lot of time to take a position, shoot back and leave the position. The enemy simply does not have time to return fire on us.
Less than a minute passes from the moment a new position is taken up to the moment the first shot is fired. Then we fire about five shells in one minute. And then also for about a minute we leave the position.
We work hard, every day. We work out several enemy targets every day,” said the commander of the CAESAR self-propelled guns.
