More and more new videos of the work of American M777 howitzers of 155 mm caliber against Russian occupiers get into the network. Another video was recorded by an artilleryman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a volley of one of these guns.
The M777 is a long-range towed gun with a digital fire control system. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received about 100 such howitzers from the United States.
The range of the M777 is from 25 to 30 km (depending on the type of projectiles used). In the nominal mode of use, the gun is capable of firing two shots per minute, and in the intensive mode of firing the M777 - 5 shots for two minutes).
In addition, the M777 can fire the M982 Excalibur guided artillery projectile with extended range GPS guidance. Just one projectile can hit a target that would take dozens of unguided artillery shells to destroy.
