Ukraine needs 50 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to successfully and effectively counter the military aggression of the Russian Federation. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

Ukraine wants to receive at least 50 MLRS HIMARSUkraine wants to receive at least 50 MLRS "HIMARS"

According to him, it is precisely this number of HIMARS that is necessary for the total and final stop of the Russian offensive. At the same time, Reznikov added that 100 such MLRS would ensure a successful counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the entire front line.

The question of how many HIMARS MLRS are now in Ukraine does not have an exact answer. The number 12 is most often mentioned, but information on this subject is contradictory. According to official sources, it can be argued that Ukraine received at least 8 MLRS "HIMARS".

"HIMARS" is an American development of the latest generation of MLRS. Produced since March 2003. It is simply a MLRS, but a high-precision weapon, which at the same time is capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 300 km. So far, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have types of missiles that can cover a distance of no more than 70 km, but, according to the same Reznikov, Ukraine has already begun to receive types of missiles for a greater range of aimed fire.

With the help of the HIMARS MLRS, the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past two weeks have successfully destroyed dozens of large Russian ammunition depots, as well as their command posts, located deep in the rear and previously inaccessible to the Ukrainian army.
