Turkish Fenerbahce head coach Jorge Jesus summed up the results of his team's first match with Dynamo Kyiv (0:0) in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, which took place last Wednesday in Lodz, Poland.
“It was the first official match of the new season for us. As I said before the fight, we faced a difficult opponent. Most Dynamo players play in the Ukrainian national team. And in terms of performance in the Champions League, Dynamo is more experienced than Fenerbahce.
But we played well. In defense, they showed themselves very well organized. Our opponent was unable to carry out a single serious attack. What we lacked today was the quality of the attack.
The confrontation with Dynamo is not over yet, so we just leave with a draw after the first match. We are still determined to advance to the next round. Our players have enough quality and capabilities to solve this problem. To achieve this goal, we worked for 5 weeks.
I think that the support of our fans in the second match will be a very important advantage. The atmosphere they will create will create psychological pressure on the opponent,” Jesus said after the end of the match against Dynamo.
