The legendary striker of Dynamo Kyiv and the USSR national team, the owner of the Golden Ball Igor Belanov spoke about his acquaintance with the current Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
“Shoigu and I met when he was elected to the Duma. Then he worked in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and we were invited to various football matches as stars, and we traveled around the cities with Shoigu.
Then he and all of them there were completely different people. Now they are like zombies. I don't understand what is happening. Once Shoigu saved people, we talked a lot about this, but what is happening now is a shock to me.
Of course, I don’t communicate with either Shoigu or the others now. But then all these people were very friendly, otherwise, if at least something was wrong, I would simply not go - that's one hundred percent.
What would I say to Shoigu now? Yes, I think that he would not even raise his eyes at our meeting,” Belanov said in a comment to the Profootball Digital Youtube channel.
