After returning from Liverpool from a charity match with Everton (0:3), Dynamo Kyiv actively got involved in preparations for the matches of the third qualifying round of the Champions League against the Austrian Sturm.
At the theoretical lessons, Mircea Lucescu's team studies in detail their upcoming opponent, his strengths and weaknesses. On Sunday, after the theory, the players took to the football field. After a functional warm-up, which usually precedes the session, the players were divided into squares to hold the ball. It is noteworthy that the squares were gradually expanding, and two trains were already working in its final stage. Then the players moved on to tactical exercises, practicing both defensive and offensive actions.
In general, behind all the conversations between the players and coaches, it is clear that Dynamo really miss their home and dream of returning to Ukraine as soon as possible.
However, the town of Uniejow, where Dynamo lives and prepares for the Champions League matches, received the team very warmly. From the first day, Dynamo players had excellent working conditions, a first-class lawn and a convenient location - in general, everything in order to focus exclusively on the football component.
Mayor of the city Josef Kaczmarek is a big football fan and now a Dynamo fan. He himself attended the match with Fenerbahce in Lodz and brought three buses of Ukrainians from the outskirts of the city, buying them tickets for the game at his own expense. On Sunday evening, Kaczmarek decided to congratulate the team on reaching the next round of Champions League qualification by inviting them to dinner at a local 14th-century castle. Upon arrival, Dynamo was greeted with applause, visual special effects to the song "We are the champions". The burgomaster personally gave a tour of the castle, after which he invited his favorite team to the table.
Dynamo did not remain in debt, presenting memorable gifts to the entire delegation, and to Josef Kaczmarek, as a great football fan, who himself often takes to the field as a player, Tsygankov's T-shirt. The burgomaster appreciated the present, noting that Viktor is a very strong player and a potential star of world football.
Also, the head of the Dynamo delegation, Anatoly Volk, delivered a touching speech addressed to the burgomaster, in whose person he thanked the Poles and the Polish authorities for accepting Ukrainians so kindly during a terrible war, to which Josef Kaczmarek replied that Uniejow is always open for Dynamo, and Poland is for Ukrainians.
And Mircea Lucescu noted that the Poles had become a fraternal people for Ukrainians and thanked the people of Poland on his behalf, and also presented a huge bouquet of roses to the waitresses at the end of the meeting as a token of gratitude for their hospitality.
