The life of one of the best playmakers in the recent history of Dynamo Kyiv was suddenly cut short on August 1, 2014.

Eight-time champion of Ukraine, seven-time winner of the Cup and three-time winner of the Super Cup of Ukraine, semi-finalist of the Champions League 1998/99... In 11 seasons in Kyiv, Valentin Belkevich played 317 matches, scored 70 goals for Dynamo and earned sincere admiration and respect from the fans of the "white- blue."

A master of standards and a passing genius, a gifted and wise football player, captain and one of the leaders of the outstanding Dynamo team at the turn of the century, Belkevich left a bright mark on Ukrainian football not only thanks to trophy achievements, but also due to his virtuosic, filigree game, team self-sacrifice and extraordinary talent.

After the end of his playing career, Valentin Nikolayevich worked fruitfully in the coaching field, raising champions already from his wards in the youth and youth teams of Dynamo.

In the hearts of millions of fans, he will remain as a wonderful person, a leader on and off the field, a true professional in his field and an example to follow. The memory of Valentin Belkevich continues to live as a bright memory in a large Dynamo family...
