Director of Oleksandriya Dmitry Kitaev commented on the creation of a single television pool of the Ukrainian Premier League.
— Dmitry Sergeevich, tell us why it was not possible to create a single television pool?
- It is too early to comment on anything, since the official statement of the UPL will be on Monday. In fact, we created a telepool by a majority of votes, and then everything is according to the protocol. That is, legally we have created a telepool. 12 out of 16 clubs want to create a telepool. Now is the time to finally come to this. Most people want it.
— Are Oleksandria satisfied with Setanta Sports' offer?
— This proposal is not even about money. This offer is to ensure that at least someone can see football. Conventionally, if there is no telepool, there will be no broadcasts at all. The broadcasts will fall on the shoulders of the clubs.
Someone will want to broadcast one club, and someone will not want to broadcast anyone at all. Football will remain just for two teams and support staff. The very essence of football will disappear altogether. And so football will be for people. Everyone can see it on TV.
The fact that football will be free for people - please. If you want, pay and watch online, and if it is not possible to pay, watch the recordings, the matches will be shown in free access on YouTube in 24 hours. So I don't understand what the problem is here.
— How do clubs that resist the creation of a telepool motivate their actions?
- It's hard for me to comment on them. Who wants to - he will find opportunities, who does not want - he will find reasons.
