Today, August 23, the second leg of the play-off round of the qualifying stage of the Champions League of the 2022/23 season Benfica - Dynamo will take place. Recall that the first meeting was held last Wednesday in Polish Lodz and it ended with the victory of the Portuguese team with a score of 2:0. The second leg will take place in Lisbon at the Estadio da Luz stadium. The match starts at 20:00.
The live TV broadcast of Benfica - Dynamo will take place on the Megogogo online television streaming platform, the official exclusive broadcaster of the Champions League on the territory of Ukraine.
Dynamo.kiev.ua will traditionally host a live text broadcast of the Benfica-Dynamo match, which will also contain online statistics of the game. Expect the starting lineups of the teams for the upcoming match on the pages of our website and its social networks about an hour and a half before the start of the game.
Dynamo arrived in Lisbon on Sunday evening in full force, but it is already known for sure that two leading players of the Ukrainian team, defender Denis Popov and midfielder Viktor Tsygankov, will not play in the match with Benfica. Both players were injured. Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu announced this at a pre-match press conference held yesterday in Lisbon. Apparently, Alexander Sirota will replace Popov in defense, and Alexander Karavaev will replace Tsygankov on the right flank of midfield.
At the same time, Dynamo will once again be able to count on its captain, midfielder Sergei Sidorchuk, who served a suspension in the first match against Benfica due to too many yellow cards and now again has the right to enter the field.
It should be noted that both Dynamo and Benfica have not played other matches since the face-to-face meeting in the first match. The Ukrainian Championship has not started yet, and the Dynamo simply had no games scheduled, and the Lisbonites received permission to postpone their match of the 3rd round of the Portuguese Championship with Pasush, which was supposed to take place last weekend.
“It was very important for us that we were able to rest and prepare for the second leg against Dynamo in a calm atmosphere and full of energy. After all, a difficult match awaits us: the result of the first meeting is good, but it has not taken us anywhere yet. So we will have to play again to prove that we are worthy of the Champions League group stage," Benfica head coach Roger Schmidt said at the pre-match press conference.
