In the first match of the 2022/2023 season in the youth championship of Ukraine "Dynamo U-19"Ingulets" from Petrovy won - 4:1. The emotions after the game were shared by forward Ihor Horbach, who scored the second goal of Dynamo in this meeting.
Igor Gorbach (photo: fcdynamo.kiev.ua)— Igor, congratulations on the winning start of the championship! What are your impressions of the first official match after a long break?
— It was a difficult match, but we expected that from the first game. As they say: "What you call a ship, so it will sail." Everything ended well today and we are happy about it. I hope we will continue to win.
— The team was preparing for the season both abroad and in Ukraine. What was the most difficult part of preparing for the start of the new season in wartime conditions?
— We prepared for a long time, but probably the most difficult were the first training sessions, during which we did a lot of running work. And matches are always a joy for us. That is why we enjoyed playing in the European tournaments in which we participated.
— Now you have become one of the most experienced players of Dynamo U-19", because a large number of football players born in 2005 joined the team. At what level do you have relationships and understanding on the field at this stage?
— Yes, now I am one of the oldest in the team, although I was once the youngest. I will pass on to the guys the experience I got from the older guys. We are already gradually building connections, and I think we will only add more with each match.
— The team won with a big score, but did not avoid a missed goal. What else needs to be worked on?
— In the second half, we got down physically and began to lack. I think we need to play better at a high heart rate.
— Today is the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, and the teams went out with it on the field. What does it mean to you as an athlete to play under the blue and yellow flag and represent your country?
— For me it is a pride! We fight on the football field like our warriors for us and our country.
— You scored quite effectively from the game, but you couldn't convert the penalty. Why?
— I didn't score, that's why it didn't work out. I will score the following penalties (smiles).
