The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) considered the appeal of the founder of FC Agrobusiness Oleg Sobutsky against the decision of the disciplinary bodies of the UAF.
Earlier, Sobutsky was disqualified for life for the incident with the referee Yuriy Ivanov, which happened in July 2020 after the match of the first league of Ukraine "Agribusiness" - "Minay".
The Court of Arbitration for Sport found that the sanction in the form of lifelong disqualification applied by the UAF is not provided for by the UAF Disciplinary Rules and is incommensurate with the actual circumstances of the violation. In this regard, CAS partially granted Sobutsky's appeal and reduced the period of disqualification to five years.
Oleg Sobutsky is now defending the independence of Ukraine in the ranks of the ZSU, and also provides significant material assistance personally and through the Sobutsky Family Charitable Foundation to support our soldiers at the front.
Recall that the provisions of the UAF Disciplinary Code allow reducing the sanction in the presence of positive characteristics of the person.
