On Friday, August 26, the draw for the group stage of the Europa League 2022/23 took place in Istanbul, which also determined the opponents of Dynamo Kyiv, the only representative of Ukraine at this stage of the tournament. Mircea Lucescu's team ended up in Group B, where its rivals will be French Rennes, Turkish Fenerbahce and Cypriot AEK.
Recall that Dynamo has already met with Fenerbahce in this European Cup season - in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League. The nominally home match for Kiev, which took place in Polish Lodz, ended with a score of 0:0, and in the second leg, Dynamo won a victory in extra time - 2:1.
AEK is also familiar to Ukrainian fans this season: the team from Larnaca coped with Dnipro-1 in the playoff round of the Europa League qualification — 2:1 and 3:0.
