The technical director of the French Rennes, Florian Maurice, commented on the results of the Europa League group stage draw held yesterday, which placed his club in Group B to Dynamo Kyiv, Turkish Fenerbahce and Cypriot AEK.
“Dynamo Kyiv and Fenerbahce are two great European clubs. I don't know AEK very well, but we will study their style of play. The draw seems difficult, but we are ready to play in such a group.
We know the very difficult situation in Ukraine. The championship of this country has just begun. We know that Dynamo started the European Cup season for several weeks, played their home matches in Poland, and failed to beat Benfica in the playoff round of the Champions League.
I don’t know yet where we will play against Dynamo away. But with Fenerbahce, in this regard, everything is completely different: we are well aware of the unique atmosphere at home matches of the Istanbul team. This will be a great experience for us.
We are full of ambitions before the start of the Europa League group stage and want to adequately represent France in this European Cup. We got a fairly open group - I'm sure we have every chance to get out of it. In any case, our team has the necessary potential to solve such a problem,” Maurice said.
