Kryvbas head coach Yuriy Vernydub told the German media about the war in Ukraine.
“I would not want such a life for anyone, because everything is very difficult. Yesterday I was only in Portugal at the game of 1/16 of the Europa League, and two days later I was already in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The conditions, of course, are not the best, but all the guys and I knew why we were there and what we wanted. They went there because they wanted to prevent the Russians from seizing our land.
We are fighting for our Ukraine to be free. So that our children, wives, parents live the way we want it, and not according to some principles of another country, that is, Russia. I want there to be peace everywhere in Ukraine, a peaceful sky and people to live the way they want it,” Vernidub was quoted by Sportschau.de.
