— Everything was decided in the matches with Lobanovsky's Dynamo Kyiv, which won the Cup Winners' Cup that year, and reached the semifinals of the Champions Cup the next. Their matches were constantly rescheduled, so as a result, they had to play twice within a few weeks. The first match was at the end of November in the Olimpiyskiy arena. Everything was in our hands, we scored first, but got a return goal on the counterattack. In Kyiv, taking into account refereeing, it was much harder. We were happy with a draw, but in the end we lost 1:2 and were left with only silver.

For me, the meetings with Dynamo Kyiv are the most important, I went to them as the last fight. Purely sporting anger boiled up, I really wanted to beat them. Although now I continue to be friends with many guys from that Kyiv Dynamo. When I came to Kyiv with the national team or Maccabi, Lekhoy Mikhailichenko, Vitya Morozov, Volodya Bessonov, Tolik Demyanenko, Oleg Blokhin communicated with pleasure, not to mention the late Andryukha Bala, who generally became my son's godfather.

In Dynamo Moscow, I did not feel any sympathy for any coach. Another thing is Valery Lobanovsky, whom he met in the national team,” Uvarov said in an interview with MatchTV.
