The representative of the executive board of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azmir Gusic, commented on the possible sparring with the Russian national team.
“I will do everything in my power to prevent the meeting from taking place. I have already contacted some members of the Executive Council and I am sure that I will persuade my colleagues with arguments that at the moment we do not need a match with Russia.
While Russia is under suspension from UEFA and FIFA, we need to behave as other organizations expect. Should relations be broken with other alliances or, at the very least, with the West because of the game in Russia? I repeat once again, I will do everything in my power to ensure that there is no match. I believe that colleagues will take everything into account.
We have decisive games coming up, and instead of working to play these matches in the best possible atmosphere, we are trying to get rid of the hard-won trust of the fans again. Our duty is to convince our colleagues by the force of arguments that we do not need a match with Russia now," Gusich said.
