FIFA agent Igor Krivenko told how the staffing of the Ukrainian championship has changed.
“Because of the war, several hundred of our players lost their jobs. Approximately 50 legionnaires left Ukraine, and their places were mostly taken by doubles of Ukrainian teams and players from the missing lower league clubs. Many athletes have lost their jobs and have agreed to sign contracts even with lower division teams in neighboring countries, where they earn around 2,000 euros per month. These are those whom the war found at training camps in Turkey, and they did not want to return to Ukraine.
It remains a mystery to me how our guys ended up in such exotic football countries as Iceland, India, Cambodia, Kosovo, San Marino. However, many have found comfortable conditions for continuing their careers. For example, in India, football players earn more than in Ukraine, - the Express newspaper quotes Krivenko.
