The Ukrainian national team continues to prepare for the September matches of the League of Nations - against Scotland (September 21 and 27) and Armenia (September 24). On Monday, the Blue-Yellows arrived in Glasgow. As planned, the Ukrainians took off on a charter flight from Warsaw at 11:00 and arrived at their destination three hours later.
Roman Yaremchuk, who arrived in Glasgow a little earlier, was already waiting in the team bus, which was standing right on the runway. Immediately from the airport, the collections went to the Crowne Plaza hotel. Already there, the rest of the legionnaires joined the national team. After a joint lunch, the guys went to rest before the evening training.
The first session on Scottish soil took place at Firhill Stadium, home of the local Championship club Partick Thistle. The Blue-Yellows already trained on this field a little over a year ago, on the day of the 1/8 finals of Euro 2020 against Sweden.
A cozy stadium with a high-quality grass surface was perfect for the work of the teams, which worked almost in full force yesterday. The collective game series was missed by three players who played for their clubs the day before.
Roman Yaremchuk and Taras Kacharaba had only a recovery run around the field yesterday. But Vitaliy Mykolenko, who played the whole match for Everton the day before yesterday, was slightly injured and the doctors decided that it was better for him to rest for one day. Already today, the medical staff of the team will conduct an examination of the defender and determine the state of his readiness to participate in today's pre-match training.
The official training of the Blue-and-Yellows at Hampden will begin at 18:30 local time (at 20:30 Kyiv time). Half an hour before that, the head coach of the national team Alexander Petrakov and its captain Andrey Yarmolenko will meet with representatives of the media in the conference hall of the arena.
