The director of Milan, Paolo Maldini, spoke about the details of negotiations with the team's midfielder Rafael Leao on the extension of the contract. The Portuguese's current contract with the Rossoneri runs until 2024.
"Leao had some problems with the transfer to Lille. It had an impact, the interlocutors often changed, but Rafa is grateful to us. He understands that his future career is connected with Milan. There will be negotiations and we know that strong players need to be paid for their football qualities. If the team continues like this, he will have everything to do even more. Then, of course, we will consider the options of selling him," Maldini was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
We will remind that the 23-year-old footballer owes 16 million euros to Sporting Lisbon for the early termination of his contract in 2018. AFTER that, he joined Lille, and already in 2019 he became a player of Milan for 30 million euros.
