After the final matches of the 2022/23 season of the Nations League took place last Tuesday, the composition of the pots for the draw for the Euro 2024 qualifying round was determined.
53 national teams will take part in the qualification of the next European Championship - all UEFA participants, except for the Russian team, which, as a team of a terrorist country, has been suspended from participating in the tournament.
Before the Euro 2024 qualifying draw, which will take place October 9 in Frankfurt, all participants in the qualification will be divided into six pots (the first five pots - 10 teams each, the sixth pot - 3 teams) - in accordance with the ranking of the national teams at the end of the 2022/23 Nations League. The Ukrainian national team, which, we recall, played in Division B of the League of Nations and finished the tournament in second place in its group, was ranked 22nd in the ranking of national teams and, accordingly, fell into the third basket.
Based on the results of the draw, 10 groups will be formed: in seven groups there will be five teams, in three - six.

Cart 1: Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland.
Cart 2: France, Austria, Czech Republic, England, Wales, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Scotland, Finland.
Cart 3: UKRAINE, Iceland, Norway, Slovenia, Ireland, Albania, Montenegro, Romania, Sweden, Armenia.
Cart 4: Georgia, Greece, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Faroe Islands, North Macedonia.
Cart 5: Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Belarus, Lithuania, Gibraltar, Estonia, Latvia, Moldova, Malta.
Cart 6: Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein.
Group stage matches of the Euro 2024 qualifying round will be held from March to November 2023. Teams that finish first and second in their groups will advance to the finals of the European Championship. Three more tickets to Euro 2024 will be played in March 2024 in a two-round play-off round between the 12 best teams of the 2022/23 Nations League (among those who do not qualify for the Euro directly).
Recall that the final part of Euro 2024 will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
