Everton striker Anthony Gordon has spoken out about player transfer fees after a record summer in which Premier League clubs spent £1.9 billion on new players. Gordon, 21, has himself been the subject of two bids from Chelsea, the latest of which was in the region of £60m.

"Such modern football is complete madness. Personally, I don't think any player is worth that kind of money, but I'm not going to put myself down either. Money flooded football. Clubs are constantly paying for potential these days. That's the way football works today," Gordon was quoted as saying by 90min.
