The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) registered the appeal of the football federations of Peru and Chile, in which they demanded that Ecuador be suspended from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the press service of the organization reports. The final decision will be made no later than November 10.

Ecuador national team

Recall that the FIFA Appeals Committee rejected the appeal of the Chilean Football Federation and the Peruvian Football Federation regarding the exclusion of the Ecuador national team from the 2022 World Cup participants. The accusation was due to the fact that the lawyer of the Chile national team discovered the birth certificate of Ecuador national team defender Byron Castillo, which states that the player is Colombian.
