Inter Miami striker Gonzalo Higuain has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2022 MLS season.
"I told the club three or four months ago that this is not going to happen in the next few days. I've been working on this for years. I moved here to enjoy football, my life, the fact that my brother Fede is around. It was another stage in my career, but I can tell you that it was one of the best moments in my career. It's all thanks to the club, my teammates and the coaching staff, who gave me back my desire to play football.
Now I can retire like I always dreamed of, scoring goals and enjoying the game," Goal quoted the 34-year-old footballer as saying.
This season, Higuain scored 12 goals in 14 MLS regular season matches and helped Inter qualify for the playoffs.
