Well-known Ukrainian journalist Artem Frankov told what he expects from the match of the 3rd round of the group stage of the Conference League between Dnipro-1 and Vaduz from Liechtenstein, which will be held today in Slovakian Kosice.
“I look at the chances of Dnipro-1 with great optimism. There are exactly two sufficient and necessary reasons for this:
1) the current form of Oleksandr Kucher’s team, which crushes everyone in the Ukrainian championship (four wins in four matches with zero goals conceded), and also won its first European Cup victory in the last round of the Conference League (also in what a masterpiece style - we are talking about the first half away match with the Cypriot "Apollo"!);
2) the very dubious advantages of the opponent - the Liechtenstein grandee, portraying something in European competitions, having made it to the group stage for the first time in history, but frankly merging in the Swiss championship, in the second, mind you, division.
In the last round, Vaduz lost at home to Lausanne 0:2 and after nine rounds it is penultimate with four points - four draws with five defeats, 11-20 on goals. No matter how problematic the championship of Ukraine is, its leader is obliged to remove the outsider of the second division of the championship of Switzerland without problems, take six points in two matches and secure second place in the Dutch AZ group.
But stay careful guys! This "Vaduz" loves counterattacks very much, and many people have already been caught on this - for example, AZ, who broke the resistance of the Liechtensteiners at home (4:1) only after sending off the goalkeeper of the guests for a foul of last hope ... By the way, the absence of a suspended Büchel is another factor in favor of ours," Frankov said.
