UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin irritably responded to public demands to punish the Belarusian federation along the lines of the removal of Russia.
- It's a bit populism to demand: "Remove everyone!" At the moment, we see no reason for this,” Čeferin said in an interview with Sport Bild. - If something changes, we will definitely respond. Politicians must respect our decision-making authority. We don't tell politicians what they should do.
Recall that, according to the decision of UEFA, Belarus must hold home matches outside the country and without spectators, however, it participates in all ongoing and upcoming competitions under the auspices of the union.
