General Secretary and Vice-President of the UAF, Yuriy Zapisotskyi, was served with suspicion upon crossing the border between Poland and Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers stopped a UAF official at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint. Tribuna.com is currently investigating the case for which the suspicion was served, but it is known that it relates to his work at the UAF. Zapisotsky himself refused to comment on the situation.
UAF vice-president Oleh Protasov also reported that Zapisotsky later crossed the border as part of an official delegation to UEFA.
We will remind you that in 2018, law enforcement agencies opened several cases against the leadership of the UAF.
The Main Investigative Department of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, is investigating "possible abuses on the part of the leadership of the football federation, aimed at embezzling budget funds allocated in 2017 for the budget program "Construction of football fields with artificial surfaces in the regions of Ukraine", for a total amount of UAH 270 million ".
NABU also referred another case to the National Police "due to the fact of possible abuse of official position by persons of the legislative and executive branches of government, communal and privately owned enterprises, as well as the football federation by purchasing at inflated prices works on the construction of football fields with an artificial surface at the expense of the state and local budgets".
