The head coach of Vorskla Poltava Viktor Skrypnyk, commenting on the defeat of his team by Rukh Lviv (0:1) in yesterday's match of the 8th round of the Ukrainian Championship, spoke about the specifics of the current championship.
“We all perfectly understand what championship we are playing this year. Every match is like a final. So there was no question of any underestimation of the opponent.
We understood that Rukh had played in previous rounds with teams from the top five. They outplayed Zorya, tied with Veres on the road. Therefore, they understood that this team was strong, and tuned in to a serious fight. We wanted to rehabilitate ourselves for the defeat in the match against Metalist. But what you strive for doesn't always work out," Skrypnyk said after the match against Rukh.
