Dynamo, who in the last round defeated their principal rivals from Shakhtar Donetsk, entered the game with a strong desire to also win, and from the first minutes they tried to take the initiative into their own hands.
But the guests were not going to sit out on the defensive, and the first dangerous moment was created at the hosts' goal - Nesterenko shot from a free kick, but the ball flew into the hands of Ignatenko.
In opposite possessions, Tsarenko also tried to distinguish himself with a long-range shot, while Gorbach missed the almost empty goal from outside the penalty area. Salenko also missed an excellent opportunity to open an account - thanks to his individual skill, Roman entered the penalty area, but he could not hit the goal frame, and the ball flew over the crossbar. Diallo "distinguished himself" with another inaccurate blow just before the break.
But soon after the resumption of the game, the "white-blue" achieved their goal. Gorbach hit the goal with his head, the goalkeeper parried, but Matkevich was the first to finish, sending the ball into the goal — 1:0.
After that, the Poltava team began to act more actively in the attack, moving forward with large forces, but the wards of Igor Kostyuk allowed the opponent to get as close as possible to their possessions - so the guests can remember only a few long-range shots that did not reach the goal.
Against Dynamo, Gorbach failed to distinguish himself once again - after a powerful strike by the forward into the corner, the goalkeeper turned the ball to a corner. But the hosts nevertheless doubled their advantage shortly before the final whistle, when Yanchishin, who replaced Diallo in the second half, closed a cross from the right flank at the far post — 2:0.
As a result, a confident victory for Dynamo, allowing the White-Blues to be in the leading group of the standings.
