Arjen Robben has made a touching appeal to his former Bayern Munich team-mate Franck Ribery following his retirement from football.

"Thank you for everything, my friend! It was always a pleasure to be with you on and off the field. You can be really proud of all that you have achieved! It was and will always be an honor to be a part of Robbery. Enjoy your time with your family and see you soon!" Robben wrote on his Twitter page.

It will be recalled that at the weekend Ribéry said an emotional farewell to football after announcing his retirement at the age of 39.
