UAF President Andriy Pavelko on his Facebook page said that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg accepted for consideration the association's claim regarding compensation for the large-scale damage caused to Ukrainian football by Russian occupiers.

Indeed, according to official statistics, the ECHR refuses to consider claims against Russia in 90-95%. So, the work carried out by the UAF team, together with Ukrainian and foreign lawyers, regional associations and clubs, was implemented at the highest quality level. Thank you for this to everyone who helped us in the process of preparing the claim! Isk, who for the first time, unfortunately, combined the horrors of war and football.
We managed to achieve the first important result in the confrontation of Ukrainian football against the aggressor thanks to the unity of the entire football community of Ukraine. In parallel with the constant shelling, evacuation, active assistance to the military, doctors and internally displaced persons, representatives of the football family collected and systematized the necessary information, which was later professionally worked out and formed the basis of the claim to the ECHR. Russia's military aggression continues, so we will continue to update information on the damage caused and send it to the ECtHR.
We understand that this lawsuit will not return the dead representatives of our football family... And it is for the sake of their blessed memory, the support of their relatives that we must achieve the maximum punishment for the aggressor. Fascist Russia will be punished!
