Well-known journalist Mykola Nesenyuk spoke about the results of the postponed match of the 1st round of the championship of Ukraine between "Ingulets" and "Dynamo" Kyiv (1:2), which took place last Thursday in the capital.

I will never forget this game because it did not take place on the scheduled date of February 25, 2022. Youth teams played two days before that day. This game was postponed a day ahead so that the young players of Dynamo could better prepare for the UEFA Youth League game. The first teams were to play at the Lobanovskyi Stadium. Preparations for the game were in full swing until the morning of February 24 changed the lives of tens of millions of people forever. Everyone is tired of football.
Football was mentioned later, when the threat of taking over Kyiv became less obvious and when we began to understand that we should gradually return to normal life as much as possible. In the summer, it was decided to hold another football championship despite the war. To be played without spectators and by stopping matches during an air alert.
Dynamo started in this championship with an away game against Ingulets, which would be quite symbolic. But the football leadership, after appointing this game, immediately moved it to the middle of November, once again showing that professionalism cannot be lost even during war. The same war made it impossible to hold the match at Ingulets field, and after several negotiations it was decided to play in Kyiv at Lobanovskyi. The same place where they did not play on February 25.
And again, as in February, on the eve of this game, Kyiv shuddered from the explosions of enemy rockets. But these explosions did not frighten anyone anymore. Because we are not the same as we were at the end of February. We are used to living under the threat of rocket fire and we are not particularly concerned about it. The threat of shelling is no longer a reason to cancel a football match in Kyiv.
I was really looking forward to this game. He believed that its holding in Kyiv could be the beginning of the countdown to the day of our Victory, just as its non-holding in February was the beginning of the countdown to the days of aggression. The result of this match is, of course, important for both teams. But the main result, in my opinion, was the very fact of holding this game! We are playing football during the war, which means we are invincible!
And finally, the last thing. The first football match in Kyiv in the new 2023 should be the match between "Dynamo" and... "Ingulets", scheduled for March 4. It can also become historic. But already with a plus sign for our common benefit!
