The captain of the Croatian national team Luka Modric went from the first minutes to the match of the first round of the 2022 World Cup against Morocco.

This allowed Modric to become the author of a unique record. The Croatian is the first player in history to play in both the World and European Championships in three different decades - World Cups 2006, 2014, 2018 and 2022, European Championships in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 (2021) years.

Modric's achievement could repeat Cristiano Ronaldo.
