The head coach of the Australian national football team, Graham Arnold, made his first comments since the team entered the 2022 World Cup play-offs. In the match of the 3rd round of the group stage, the Australians won against Denmark (1:0), which allowed them to reach the 1/8 finals for the first time since 2006.
“I'm so proud of the boys' effort. In view of the short period of preparation for the tournament, their efforts were incredible. Faith in ourselves, as well as hard work, led us to this result. My football players have excellent psychology, we worked on faith, energy for 4.5 years. I looked into the eyes of my boys and I knew they were ready for today's game," Sky Sports quoted Arnold as saying.
