For the first time in history, Germany did not reach the knockout stages of two World Cups in a row.

Although the German national team defeated Costa Rica yesterday (4:2) in the final round of the 2022 World Cup group stage, they took the final third place in Group E, losing the fight to Japan and Spain, and thus failed to solve the problem of reaching the 1/8 finals of the World Cup in Qatar.
