Yaroslava Gres, coordinator of the UNITED24 fundraising platform, published a photo of the program ambassador and former coach of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Shevchenko at the unlit NSC Olimpiyskiy.

The legendary football player turned to the world with a request to help raise funds for generators for Ukrainian hospitals.

“In my life I have played and scored in hundreds of stadiums around the world. But only here, on the illuminated Olimpiyskiy in my native Kyiv, did I experience true happiness. One day the light will return here too. But today we must light it where it is needed most," Shevchenko said.
