Midfielder of Shakhtar Donetsk and the youth national team of Ukraine, Heorhiy Sudakov, shared his expectations for the performance at Euro-2023 (U-21), which will be held in Romania and Georgia next summer.
Georgy Sudakov"We are very proud that, after a 12-year break, the youth national team of Ukraine made it to such a tournament as the European Championship. Playing for the national team of your country is always a big responsibility, but in our case it is also a pleasure from the very process that the coaches have built and the very game that we manage to demonstrate. Also, we are clearly aware of what time we play. We understand that our soldiers today are the best in the world, and we should take an example from them.
Already today, six months before the start of the Euro, I can say that we are very motivated. Even those who have already played and won, for example, in the Champions League. We have a good opportunity to demonstrate what a team we are, as well as to show our personal qualities. Everyone understands that scouts from all the world's leading clubs follow football players at such competitions, and this is a great chance to prove yourself at your best in order to receive an invitation from a top European league. However, we must be a team, no one should, as they say, sell themselves - in our national team, this is simply impossible.
For a successful performance there, we need to work a lot in our clubs, which is what we are all doing now. At such a time, we simply have no choice - we also have to give everything to make Ukraine proud of the whole world," said Sudakov.
