Argentine world champion Lionel Messi and Portuguese European champion Cristiano Ronaldo, who were considered the best football players in the world over the past decade and a half, said goodbye to football king Pelé, who died on December 29.
“Rest in peace Pele,” Messi wrote on his Instagram account and added a photo with the Brazilian.
Ronaldo was more verbose: “My deepest condolences to all of Brazil, and especially to the family of Edson Arantes do Nascimento. A simple goodbye to the eternal king Pele will never be enough to express the pain that is currently engulfing the entire football world.
