Paulo Fonseca, head coach of the French Lille, known in Ukraine for his work with Shakhtar Donetsk, at a press conference after his team's home match against Reims (1:1) in the 17th round of the French Championship, criticized Lille fans who booed the team in the segment of the meeting when the score was equal.
“We deserved to win today. Frustrated and disappointed. But with all this, in a separate way, I am disappointed with our fans. Until today, they have always supported us in any situation. But today they simply turned away from the team. And they did it at the moment when she most of all needed their support. It was very insulting to hear this whistle and see this attitude.
Football players play the way I ask them to do. So if anyone is to blame, it's me, not the players. Therefore, if you want to express your dissatisfaction, protest, boo, then address all this to me, and not to the players, ”said Fonseca.
