Former Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale unexpectedly announced on social networks that he is ending his professional football career.
Gareth Bale (photo: gettyimages.com)The 33-year-old forward, whose last club was Los Angeles, seems to have had little fun with football lately and preferred golf. The final tournament of the 2022 World Cup did not bring him joy either, where Wales finished last in Group B.
“After much deliberation, I announce the end of my club and international career. I am incredibly lucky to realize my dream and play the sport that I love. Now I'm moving on to a new chapter in my life. It's time for change and opportunity for new adventures," Bale wrote.
