Famous French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has announced his retirement from the French national team.
“I prefer to leave at the highest level,” the 36-year-old goalkeeper was quoted as saying by the French national team on Twitter.
Lloris has been playing for the national team since 2008. In total, as part of the national team, he played 145 matches, of which in 121 cases he entered the field as a captain.
At the same time, at the 2022 World Cup, Lloris set a record among goalkeepers for the number of matches in the world championships - he has 20 fights in the world championships.
As part of the national team, the goalkeeper won the 2018 World Cup and the 2020/21 Nations League, and also became the silver medalist of Euro 2016 and the 2022 World Cup.
