Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has advised Harry Maguire to leave Old Trafford.
Maguire, who performed excellently in the England national team at the 2022 World Cup, returned to the starting line-up of United in the winning match of the championship with Bournemouth (3:0), but in the very next meeting Luke Shaw was again selected for the position of central defender in Cup of England against "Everton" (3:1).
"If I were Maguire, I would immediately leave the team. Luke Shaw plays centre-back in his place. That's if I came back from the World Cup, where I did really well, and Patrice Evra was playing central defender for Manchester United. I would like to strangle Patrice! I would destroy him in training so he wouldn't be able to play, and then I would go to the coach and say: "Are you kidding me, boss?". I would just walk into the coach's office and say, "You don't respect me."
Harry Maguire must go. I think he only stays because they have a lot of matches and they can't bring in anyone else. He plays in the cup matches," Goal quoted Ferdinand as saying.
