The UAF announced the termination of cooperation with the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Petrakov.
“For me, this period of my life will forever remain a warm memory in my heart. I want to thank the players of the national team and the coaching and administrative staff for the fact that for a year and a half we have been the only whole, united and inspired by the idea of protecting the interests of Ukraine on and off the football field.
We sought to achieve the greatest and give Ukraine the joy of victories in the most difficult period in the modern history of the state. I am also sincerely grateful to the entire staff of the Ukrainian Football Association for many years of cooperation and to UAF President Andriy Pavelko for their trust.
Thanks to our best fans in the world for warmly and sincerely supporting and believing in us. I remain the most ardent fan of the Ukrainian national team. Glory to Ukraine,” Petrakov said.
On August 18, 2021, Petrakov was appointed acting head coach of the Ukrainian national team. On November 17, 2021, he lost his prefix acting.
Under the leadership of the 65-year-old Ukrainian, the Ukrainian national team played 15 matches: 6 wins, 7 draws and 2 losses.
