As a result of the Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine, the enemy has already destroyed and damaged more than a thousand medical institutions, causing multi-billion dollar damage in the healthcare sector alone. With particular cynicism, the invaders are trying to destroy civilian infrastructure and leave our citizens without proper living conditions.
Most of the "scars" and human tragedies after the Russian occupation are concentrated in the settlements of the Kyiv region, which took over the first wave of enemy invasion in February last year. Now, a year later, the capital region is struggling with the consequences of the atrocities of the Russian army, establishing a familiar life and leading an active restoration, which is carried out by both ordinary citizens, state bodies, and patrons.
From the first days of the war, FC Dynamo (Kyiv) and the Surkis Brothers Foundation joined in providing assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the civilian population in many areas, including in the social and medical sectors and the restoration of destroyed infrastructure.
In parallel with the restoration of a kindergarten in the village of Byshev, Fastovsky district, which has already hospitably opened its doors to the smallest visitors, FC Dynamo Kyiv and the Surkis Brothers Fund implemented another large-scale project in the Kiev region - the restoration of the Gurovshchinsky outpatient clinic of the Dmitrievsky village council of the Buchansky district, which completely burned out in as a result of shelling by Russian invaders in March last year. The corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Ministry of Health and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
Based on the results of the technical examination of the facility, an expert opinion was made that the building was not subject to reconstruction, but the construction of a new facility was necessary to continue primary health care and patient care. The restoration of the outpatient clinic in a short time was extremely important, because rural residents with any ailment turn to a family doctor, and the population of the community served by this medical institution is about 6,000 people.
Consequently, FC Dynamo (Kyiv) and the Surkis Brothers Foundation took upon themselves the obligation to restore the outpatient clinic according to international standards and equip it with modern equipment so that residents of the village of Lyubimovka, in which the medical facility is located, and neighboring settlements could receive proper medical care in comfortable conditions and without the need to travel to remote medical facilities.
The capital construction of the new building of the outpatient clinic began in August - with the dismantling of the remains of the old building and the laying of a monolithic reinforced concrete foundation. Further, the villagers could observe with their own eyes how the walls of the renovated outpatient clinic were gradually being erected and the roof was being built. At the same time, the material base was being accumulated - the necessary medical equipment, computer equipment, furniture, etc. were purchased.
The grand opening of the new outpatient clinic took place today, January 13. This event became a real holiday for the community, which brought together local residents who were looking forward to the launch of a modern medical facility. The opening ceremony, which was held by the famous TV presenter Timur Miroshnichenko, was attended by guests of honor - one of the founders of the Surkis Brothers Foundation Grigory Surkis, Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Vitaly Vlasyuk, head of the Dmitrievsk rural territorial community Taras Didych.
The event was held in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, during the ceremony, words of gratitude were expressed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, doctors continuously working on their front, as well as to the Surkis Brothers Foundation, through which the outpatient clinic was promptly built and equipped with modern equipment.
The Executive Committee of the Dmitrievsky Village Council, represented by Chairman Taras Didych, prepared special thanks to the founders of the Foundation - Igor and Grigory Surkisov, the heads of the charitable organization Vitaly Sivkov and Tatiana Genova, as well as to the construction contractor "Prorector" and the construction team - for their invaluable contribution to the restoration one of the most important links in the life support of the community.
The head of the Dmitriev region also remembered the tragic page in the life of the community, which in February-March last year was one of the main battlefields near Kyiv, on the Zhytomyr highway. More than 100 local residents became victims of the bloody actions of the Russian army, and now the community is losing its natives in opposition to the invaders. Therefore, all those present honored with a minute of silence the memory of the dead and those without whom the restoration of the rear would have been impossible - the heroes-defenders of Ukraine.
Then the time came for the long-awaited event - the opening of the new Gurovshchinsky outpatient clinic. With the help of local children, Grigory Surkis and Taras Didych cut the symbolic ribbon at the entrance to the renovated medical facility, near which the residents of the community gathered, wishing to thank for the restoration of the outpatient clinic and be the first to inspect it from the inside.
The Gurovshchyna outpatient clinic has become the first medical institution in the Kyiv region, built from scratch, and will serve as a model for such projects, because it was built and equipped to meet the requirements of the time and adapted to the needs of society.
Two family doctors, a pediatrician and a dentist will start working in the new premises of the medical facility from next Monday. During the day, an outpatient clinic can, on average, receive 35-40 patients, for whom comfortable conditions are provided - a convenient reception for waiting, wireless Internet, a day hospital with a TV panel, a laboratory, a manipulation room and a vaccination room. Excellent conditions have also been created for the work of doctors, which can become an additional incentive for the development of an outpatient clinic and the attraction of highly qualified specialists.
One of the features of the project is the separation of the flows of adult patients and children to prevent the spread of infections and viruses. The children's unit has a separate entrance and includes a pediatrician's office paired with an vaccination room.
Another important aspect of the new dispensary building is inclusiveness. The medical institution is equipped with all amenities for receiving people with disabilities and visual impairments.
The head of the Dmitrievsky Medical Center told more about the equipment of the outpatient clinic Ruslan Surzhenko:
“The outpatient clinic is fully equipped with valuable laboratory equipment - we have a hematology analyzer for performing a general blood test, an automated urinary analyzer, accessories for measuring hemoglobin and cholesterol. In addition, there are rapid tests for HIV, hepatitis B and C, troponin tests and pregnancy tests.
The dental office is also equipped with expensive equipment, and office equipment and necessary office supplies have already been installed in doctors' offices. The heating of the outpatient clinic is provided by a solid fuel boiler as an alternative source of heat at the present time, and the supply of electricity for the continuous operation of the institution is provided by two generators, which are used if necessary.
All equipment of the outpatient clinic was purchased with the funds of the Surkis Brothers Foundation, for which we express our deep gratitude.”
In turn, the founder of the Foundation Grigory Surkis noted the quality work of the builders and wished the local residents to maintain good health in order to have as few reasons as possible to go to the doctors.
“In my opinion, the construction contractor we chose did an excellent job and deserved an excellent rating for his work. They demonstrated that there are builders who can build a modern dispensary in the shortest possible time. It is very pleasant to start the new year with such a discovery, because you are doing good deeds not for yourself and your family, but for people who have suffered from Russian aggression. I never could have imagined that in the 21st century there could be a person who decides to take such an aggressive path towards a country that was previously called fraternal and friendly. Today, we are separated by red lines, which for many decades or even centuries will be laid down at the genetic level in our descendants.
The Gurovshchyna Ambulatory of Indestructibility is the first fully designed and rebuilt medical facility in the Kyiv region and should become a model of how it is possible to complete the construction of an important facility in such a short period of time.”
The terrorist country tried to intimidate the Ukrainians and deprive them of medical care, but the Ukrainian people demonstrate their strength and invincibility, restoring what was destroyed and creating even better conditions for their well-being. While the enemy receives only the contempt of the whole world and inevitable defeat.
We do not stop working until our victory!
