Arsenal are close to signing Brighton midfielder Leandro Trossard.
As Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports on Twitter, the 28-year-old footballer has agreed to a personal contract with the Gunners. The clubs are expected to reach an agreement soon.
Trossard is considered an attractive option for Arsenal because he has already proven himself in the Premier League. The transfer fee could be £20 million. The Belgian's current contract with Brighton expires in six months, but the Seagulls have the option to extend his deal by another year, giving them a stronger negotiating position as other clubs are also interested in the halfback.
It will be recalled that Trossard is currently training individually, as he fell out with Brighton head coach Roberto De Derby over his desire to leave the club amid widespread interest.
