The Russian Football Union (RFU) reacted to UEFA's decision to deprive Kazan of the right to host the 2023 UEFA Super Cup match.
“The decision to postpone the match for the UEFA Super Cup from Kazan against the background of the suspension of our clubs and national teams from international competitions was expected and has nothing to do with sports.
Kazan has vast experience in holding international competitions of the highest level, excellent infrastructure and the highest readiness for holding a match, including in terms of security guarantees.
At the moment, our efforts are focused on the return of Russian football to the international competition system, ”the RFU communications service said.
