Negotiations between the English Brighton and Donetsk Shakhtar regarding the transfer of the Ukrainian club's defender Mykola Matvienko are close to reaching an impasse. The reason for this is the Pitmen's exorbitant financial appetites.
Recall that the British have already sent Shakhtar two proposals for the acquisition of a 26-year-old football player, but in both cases they received a categorical refusal. In the first case, Brighton expressed their willingness to pay 11 million euros for such a transfer, and in the second case, 20 million euros.
And now Brighton, at least, has taken a break, according to Sky Sports. According to the source, the club is not ready to raise the stakes, and is still considering what to do next.
Recall, earlier it was reported that Shakhtar intends to sell Matvienko for 30 million euros. At the same time, the player himself has already agreed with Brighton a contract for five years.
