Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has expressed his opinion on former player Oleksandr Zinchenko, who now plays for Arsenal.
"Everyone at the club loves him, he was an important figure. What I liked about Oleksandr was his reaction to our decision to change his position on the pitch: 'I will fight for my position'. I said: "Alex, it's difficult. I have a lot of players in your position at number 10", but he said: "No, I will play here".
Zinchenko trained well, he never had a bad facial expression, always a good demeanour. He spent extra time in the gym. He took the opportunity to play in the starting line-up as if it was his last chance in life. That means he is a good player and has a good mindset.
Mikel Arteta knows him very well because they worked together. I am happy for him. Everything is going well," Guardiola said in a comment to Manchester City's official website.
It will be recalled that Arsenal will play Manchester City in the English league tonight. The match kicks off at 21:30 Kyiv time.
