The former player of the London "Chelsea" Christian Atsu, who has been playing for the Turkish "Hataispor" since 2022, died as a result of the earthquake in the south of Turkey, the player's agent Murat Uzunmehmet said.
The 31-year-old player went missing after the February 6 earthquake in southern Turkey. There was little information about his whereabouts, and only yesterday rescuers found the football player's body under the rubble of his own house.
"Atsu's body was found under the rubble. His phone was also found. Currently, other items are being retrieved from the rubble," wrote Uzunmehmet.
Earlier it was reported that Hatayspor had withdrawn from the Turkish Championship following the devastating earthquake that struck the country this week.
