The European Football Union (UEFA) will not deprive Russia of points in the odds table for the 2022/23 season. This was reported on the official website of the organization.
Earlier it was reported that UEFA deprived Russia of points in the coefficient table for the current European Cup season, but this information turned out to be unreliable.
The aggressor country will be awarded points based on the results of the European Cup campaign. The Russian Federation will receive 4.333 points in the odds table for men's teams and 1.750 for women's (the worst result for Russian clubs in the last 5 seasons - approx.).
“In connection with the suspension of all Russian teams and clubs from participating in UEFA tournaments until further notice in accordance with the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee dated February 28, 2022, as a result of which not a single Russian club participates in the current UEFA club competitions of the 2022/23 season , Russia will be assigned the lowest number of points earned in the last five seasons. That is 4.333 points for the club coefficient of the men's association and 1.750 for the women's," UEFA said in a statement.
After the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, UEFA suspended the clubs and national teams of the Russian Federation from participating in tournaments under its auspices. Later, the ban was extended, Russian teams were banned from participating in competitions in the 2022/23 season as well.
Recall that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the appeal of the Russian Federation to remove clubs and teams from international competitions.
